Монографический сборник содержит материалы Международного форума «От русского Серебряного века к Новому Ренессансу» к 80-летию Сергея Слонимского, проходившего в Санкт-Петербурге с 4 по 7 апреля 2012 года. Книга включает материалы научнопрактической конференции «Музыкальная речь неисчерпаема, как и сама душа человеческая» и Фестиваля-конкурса исполнительского мастерства «Играем Слонимского». Публикуемые статьи известных деятелей культуры многих стран мира созданы на основе докладов, прочитанных на конференции, освещают различные аспекты творчества и деятельности Слонимского, направления и тенденции в современном искусстве, философ- ские, исторические, теоретические, культурологические проблемы, вопросы исполнения новой музыки. Концерты Фестиваля-конкурса представлены двумя дисками. Первый содержит Фотохронику событий: слайд-шоу (DVD), второй — аудиозаписи произведений Слонимского, прозвучавших в дни Форума.
